and isn’t an undecided voter

All of which clearly makes anything he has to say meaningless? He goes by his middle name….he works for a plumbing company…although after the way the BO attacks dogs went after this guy, I agree he is no longer an undecided voter!

  2. Lefty McLefterson:

I’m just spitballin’ here, but maybe he wouldn’t have come off as such a jackass if he hadn’t pretended to be some undecided voter with the enviable problem of worrying about what to do after buying a small business. But that’s right, none of that was actually true.

He was just a red herring for John McCain to throw out during the debate.

And of course before bitching about paying more taxes it would have helped if he had paid the taxes he already owes.

wassup JamesF? i heard you stole the throne of GRK…

  4. JamesF:

Hey CCS, havent taken the throne yet, that comes Friday:)

One thing to remember about Joe the Plumber is that BO came to his neighborhood, he did not go out searching for BO to ask him a tough question.

And the link that Lefty supplies is a great illustration of how there will be investigations of anyone who dares questions The Chosen One, but there has yet to be any media present at the house of Bill Ayers to ask him about his past relationships with BO..

  5. Lefty McLefterson:

    James,

Are you suggesting that “Joe the Plumber” haplessly found himself at an Obama ralley? That somebody put him in the line and forced him to present himself in a less than truthful way?

Are you further suggesting that after McCain first invoked the name of “Joe the Plumber” that it was unreasonable for the media to try and find out who the hell the guy was?

And very classy of you to try to change the subject away from Joe back to Bill Ayres. What was his relationship with Obama? Asked and answered!

  6. JamesF:

It was not a rally, it was a walk through a neighborhood to meet “the people”. How was he presenting himself as untruthful? Is it now off-limits for someone to question a political canidate that they have disagreements with? Is it only OK to ask questions such as “Barack, how does it feel to be so awesome?”

I don’t really have a problem with the way that the media looked into this guy, but rather the lack of the same intensity investigations and national coverage on other issues bother me.

I honestly think that Obama missed a huge opportunity to make inroads with the “working class”. When it bacame clear that the media was beginning to vilify Joe the Plumber, he could have stood up and asked that this citizen be allowed to continue to livbe his life in peace, and that he was OK with answering the tough questions from his critics.

  7. Lefty McLefterson:

He was being untruthful when he said that he was getting ready to buy a company that makes more than $250,000/year.

This was really just a setup so he could put out the sound bite that Obama’s tax plan would cost him more.

How unfortunate for him that he was full of crap about buying a business and the kicker of course is that he’s got a tax lien against his house for not paying the taxes he already owed.

As far as making inroads with the working class, I think that’s a load of crap. Do you really think that at this point in the campaign reaching out to some jackass who was already predisposed to vote against him would really gain him any points among the working class? The GOP would probably just spin that as a sign of weakness.

“Joe” decided to shoot off his big fat mouth on the national stage and he deserves the scrutiny he’s getting. There are plenty of plausible reasons to disagree with Obama without distorting his tax policies or making up scenarios.
