… most conservatives wanted to drill on land in Alaska where this much damage could not happen, spills like this can be more easily cleaned up and contained b/c of a lack of water, waves and wind, AND… because we don’t have to dive down 5,000 ft to cap the well.
Like it or not, had we been drilling in the tundra way up north, this wouldn’t be the headline of the month.

An oil spill is an oil spill. Government is accountable for government, but corporations must be held accountable for their actions as well.
It is time to explore other options: Solar, wind and Hydrothermal.
